Your Own Embrace

This pendulum between should and escape, between shame and indulge, when will we let the exhausting cycle break?

Until we are finally still - and in the stillness listen to the voice, so deeply muffled within.

Let it come through, without filters or agendas, to just simply nurture

this body,

this breath,

this moment.

As you listen, feel it now, the lightness that enters the darkened room, feel the weight slip off of your frozen shoulders.

Learn how it is in the sound of the rain, the softness of your own thigh, the dust floating, lazily, in the sunlight, that joy is held.

Do not ask how to find it again, or make a task list that ensures you will always feel this.

Just keep practicing, in this moment, and the next, to know that you are enough.

That your current feelings are valid, and that you are allowed to rest

into your own tender loving embrace.
